My Pride and Joy (Zachary and Zoe)
They are my life, my strength and cheering section (plus daddy)

Everyday I wake up just like every other day, but waking up on Jan 1, 2012, I was more excited than I have ever been.  I have so many different adventures I will be doing this year with great goals to set out for.
A few goals of mine:

  • Finish my FIRST ironman - Sandusky, OH Rev3 Cedar Point! Do you think they would deliver a pizza to me on the run course?  I seem to crave pizza during my training - I will have to check on that one

  • Set a new PR in the following areas (half marathon, and half ironman)

  • Coaching my son's first soccer team - this will be a hoot as I have alway dreamed of teaching my kids the sport I grew up loving and still love! And "Yes" both my kids have asked to do a Tri with me already but they are still to young to go on this adventure with mommy and daddy (they are only 2 and 3). My kids are pretty competitive :)

  • Possibly taking on a part time job (will know very soon), this will be a fun adventure as I will be doing something I truly enjoy and still having the time with my kids. I mean Zachary starts Pre-school this August, I do not want to miss any of that. Since I home schooled him his first year of pre school I can't wait to hear all his stories.  Then in August I start home schooling Miss Zoe, which will be very fun and interesting :)

  •  Andrew and I do all of our races together, this year may be the first time he will be at the side lines cheering me on during some of my races.  I am 50/50 about this, I always look forward to seeing him on the race course and giving each other encouraging words, but I guess he could still do the same just not with a bib number on. This will be a challenge for me, I will over come this and enjoy every moment by myself on the race course.

Have I mentioned that I am excited about this coming year! I can't wait to share my strengths and weakness with you for the year of 2012.
My hardest training starts in a few weeks and I am looking forward to it
Stay Tuned!!!

Yeah!

Well, its out to the general public I am now a team member of Rev3! What a day it was to see the announcement on Facebook and everyone comments.  Wow did I feel on top of the world, it was such a great day!
Yesterday when the announcement went out, I called my mom to check Facebook (I wanted her to be surprised). As she is talking to me on the phone she is checking her page and noticed I made a post "It's official". She says Jaime I see you made a post and it says it's official but what is official? I told her to scroll down, once she found the announcement, she was very excited for me but oh boy did the questions start coming. There are days when I think my parents understand what my husband and I do when it come to racing and then there are days that they just don't get it, yesterday was "they don't get it". I was laughing the whole time talking to her.

One of the conversations:
Mom: so this team is for the crazy ironman races
Me: yes, mom and they are not crazy
Mom: Jaime you are working out for many hours, I call that crazy
Me: well if you put it that way then yes mom call me crazy
Mom: Okay so what are these triathlons that you do
Me: that is what we are talking about, sprint, olympic, half and full
Mom: So what are the ironman races then
Me: Really mom you are killing me woman, the ironman races are triathlons, there are just different distances.
Mom: oh, I am excited for you but I think you and Andrew are crazy

What a conversation with my Mom, now please keep in mind she has come to many of my races and cheered me on.  You talk to my mom about anything else and she is very bright, but when it comes to racing well you know where that goes :)

What a great day!

The Beginning

I have choose to try something new "blogging", this will be the first time for me to attempt this. New things have started to happen to me and I am very excited to share!

The week of the 28th started off interesting, I ended up having surgery on my right breast that my doctor found 2 masses that were pre cancer. I didn't have much time to register everything as it all happened so fast. After the surgery the doctor told me they got everything out and no need to worry! That was great news, so I can say I beat you cancer, don't mess with me. Couldn't be anymore happier with the situation.

On Nov 29th, I received a phone call from Rev3 asking me to become a part of there triathlon team, what an amazing opportunity! I get to race for a team that I truly respect in the ways they uphold the sport and their company.  I can't wait to share more about this adventure of mine, it will be a great ride! All I can do now is train, train, train for 2012!

I look forward to this opportunity to share my stories with everyone, I hope you enjoy what I have to say!
